Auckland Golf Marrowthon®

Rain failed to dampen spirits

What brave folks this year's golfers were as they tackled horizontal rain and gusting winds, bold and uncomplaining, even a few finishing as the thunderstorms started!

51Golf-Logo The day at Aviation Country Club in Tom Pearce Drive, Auckland, on Thursday 12 April, 2007, was a great success. A few records were broken too, and the best news is that with the completion of this Marrowthon well over $300,000 has now been raised since they started 3 years ago. Thanks to all the players and their fundraising and to all their sponsors.

Milton Jennings from our sponsor, Fidelity Life, broke into the record books raising nearly $18,000 for his 130 hole golfing! We also reached the grand total of more than 100 players who have now completed the Marrowthon over the last 3 years.

The sporting celebrities who took part did well too with Emma Keeling completing the 100 then back to work for Sports Tonight at TV3. Marc Ellis was part of the day and Davyn Nola New Zealand’s longest driver ploughed through the challenge.
