Meet the team

Our three Support Services Co-ordinators are all trained nurses - you can meet them below - and we are currently looking to recruit a fourth member of the team. They are available to help patients and families with a whole range of assistance, from an understanding voice on the end of the phone to more practical aid. They are always happy to help with any queries and can be contacted on 0800 15 10 15.

326Amy-Munro-1Amy Munro - Support Services Manager
I joined the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation in February 2007 as the Support Services Co-ordinator for the Northern Region. More recently I was appointed Support Services Manager but I continue to support patients.
My background is in Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Nursing with experience at Auckland City Hospital and, more recently, overseas at University College Hospital in London.
My passion is helping patients and their families in any way I can through what can be one of the most stressful and traumatic periods of their lives. It is a privilege to know that we can make even the smallest difference.

333Lisa-Speedy-1Lisa Speedy - Support Services Co-ordinator
I joined the LBF in January 2008 as the Central Region Support Services Co-ordinator based in Wellington. My background is in Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Nursing and I worked overseas at University College Hospital in London for several years before returing to New Zealand to nurse at Wellington Hospital.
A diagnosis of cancer can lead to a traumatic time for both patients and their families. I find helping people through this journey a very satisfying and rewarding experience.

335Chris-Kerr-2Christine Kerr - Support Services Co-ordinator
I am the Southern Region Support Services Co-ordinator for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation, based in Christchurch. I started in this role in March 2007 and I previously worked as a registered nurse in the Haematology Department of Christchurch Hospital, in both the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and outpatient areas.
A cancer diagnosis can be devastating and living with cancer is stressful for the whole family. As a Support Services Co-ordinator, I enjoy getting to know patients and their families over the sometimes long period of treatment, helping them through living with cancer and back into life.
