Rotorua Fashion Parade

Style and class on the catwalk

Fantastic community spirit was shown on Saturday 7 October, 2007, during the Rotorua Fashion Parade.

The afternoon spectacle showcased five Rotorua stores with models ‘strutting their stuff’ on the catwalk in front of 300 viewers.

Each of the stores was encouraged to be as creative as they liked with their performance as they showcased their new collections. One store had sailors in old-fashioned baby blue swimsuits playing tug of war and escorting the models down the runway.

Long time Rotorua volunteer, Carole Clarke, and her husband joined in with high spirits and modelled some very stylish dressing gowns with great flair.

Ticket sales from the event have raised a wonderful total of $4,000 for the LBF.

Local Rotorua businesses set up stalls around the periphery of the room selling a wide variety of products and really adding to the festive air.

This is the third year that the fashion show has been run; all three times the proceeds have come to the LBF in support of our vision to cure and mission to care.

Pru Etcheverry, Executive Director of the LBF, said: “The Rotorua Fashion Parade is a fantastic event that provides a new, inventive and fun way to raise money for patients and their families.

“We really appreciate the ongoing support of Quota International and all the wonderful people who work so hard to make the event such a success.”
