Christchurch Golf Marrowthon

Sportsmen and celebrities make Golf Marrowthon a success

The Christchurch Golf Marrowthon 100 Hole Challenge 15 October at the Clearwater Resort was a great success!

The 28 participating golfers completed their 100 Hole Challenge to raise $58,000 for the LBF. The golfers played 2,800 holes of golf, used over 366 balls and drank more than 100 cups of coffee to stay alert.

Former All Black and multiple myeloma survivor Gary Seear said that he took on the challenge because he wanted to “give something back.”

The event attracted a mix of professional golfers, celebrities and golf enthusiasts including TVNZ presenter Peter Williams, former All Black and Canterbury Crusader Scott Robertson, former All Black Vic Simpson, former Black Caps captain Stephen Fleming, NZ International cricketer Craig McMillan, PGA Professional golfer Michael Hendry, More FM’s Simon Barnett and Chris Bond and many others.

The funds raised in the Christchurch event will be allocated to fund the LBF’s South Island Patient Support Services.

Thank you to the event sponsors Clearwater Resort, More FM, The Press, the Underground Coffee Company, EBOS, Solid Energy, Hurrell Apparel, Benefitz, PGF Golf and Supervalue in Fendalton Village for all your support.
