Fundraising top tips
How much can you raise?
The ‘challenge’ element of the Sky Tower climb is not only physical. We are also challenging you to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation (LBF).
The money you raise will help support the thousands of New Zealand families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood conditions.
And with six children and adults being diagnosed each day, that support has never been more vital.
Please note: The money you raise must be donated to the LBF. It cannot be used to cover your airfares or event expenses.
Your fundraising activity can be as simple or elaborate as you like - you are only limited by your imagination. Below are listed just a few simple suggestions and the LBF would be more than happy to discuss your ideas with you. Just give us a call on 0800 15 10 15 or email firefighters@leukaemia.org.nz.
• Stage your own fundraising event. So far, the fundraisers dreamt up have included Wig Night Out (a party with wigs...) and an upcoming Stars in their Eyes evening
• Get your local schools involved. Students are great fundraisers and full of fantastic ideas
• Talk to local sports clubs/gyms. Perhaps you can do some collecting at matches, or get the team members involved in a fundraiser. Or the gym where you are training may want to support you
• Speak to local businesses. When they realise what you are doing, many will be keen to get on board with sponsorship
• Hold a sale. Whether it’s sausages in a bun, plants/veggies from your garden, or the stuff in your garage you’ve been meaning to clear out. Every little bit helps
You can also set up your own web fundraising page at Fundraiseonline. Just scroll down the page until you find the event and sign up!
