Home auction
Communities benefit from home auction
The Life Education Trust, Leukaemia & Blood Foundation and Motor Neurone Association of New Zealand will each receive a generous donation from the sale of a relocatable home located on land made available by Landco Land Development Ltd, in Ngahue Drive, Stonefields, opposite the Remuera Golf Course.
Supported by the Rotary Club of Auckland East, Ray White Limited conducted the auction to raise money for three charities.
Led by a team of specialists from G.J. Gardner homes, assisted by a group of Rotarians, the home was erected in record time. From a 9am start, the four walls were up when Harold the Giraffe from the Life Education Trust arrived to view progress.
Without any shortcuts being taken, the skilled team raised and erected the roof trusses before the midday target time, and a cheer went up to signify this milestone in the charity project.
The Rotary Club of Auckland East President Rae Ah Chee welcomed new furniture or fittings for the home from businesses or members of the public.
Pru Etcheverry, LBF executive director was thrilled with the inspirational project and thanked everyone involved. “This was great fundraising concept and a lovely way to involve the community in work to benefit a charity like the LBF. We are honoured to be chosen as one of the charities to benefit from this fundraiser.”
