Shave for a Cure 2010
Wow! More than 1,600 New Zealanders braved a shave! To everyone participated, thank you for hosting Shave events in your businesses, schools and communities. You kindly supported the 10,000 people living with a blood cancer or condition. Congratulations!
Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge
On 22 May, New Zealand fire-fighters smashed speed and fundraising records during the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge in support of the LBF. To read more click here.
SKYCITY Dining for a Difference
Chivalrous chefs contribute cuisine for a record fundraiser. On Saturday 30 October, SKYCITY’s Dining for a Difference raised a record $207,000 for the LBF patient support services. The elegant black-tie affair, held at the SKYCITY Convention Centre, was co-hosted by Kerre Woodham and TV3 presenter Hilary Barry and featured musical guest, New Zealand music icon, Che Fu. World Lymphoma Awareness Day
World Lymphoma Awareness Day (WLAD) is a global event observed every year on 15 September. WLAD is an international effort to raise much-needed awareness about lymphoma. The LBF is a member of the international Lymphoma Coalition which aims to raise awareness about lymphoma. To read more click here.
Farmers Santa Parade
For the third year in a row the LBF was selected by Farmers as the official charity for the iconic Farmers Santa Parade. On Sunday 28 November, 80 volunteers donated their time to support the LBF. The volunteers were on the streets of Auckland when Father Christmas came to town. Dressed in clown costumes, grass skirts and other festive attire, the families, friends and supporters of the LBF all put their hands up to participate in this, one of New Zealand’s iconic events.
