Patient support services & COVID-19

Patient safety is of the utmost concern for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). As restrictions have been lifted for the majority of aspects in New Zealand, our services will return to normal.  However, we will continue to follow both DHB and government guidelines, should they change, for LBC Support Services.

Our Support Services will continue to operate under Aotearoa New Zealand’s current COVID-19 Protection Framework where masks are required.

ORANGE

Patient and whānau interactions

All patient services, whether offered at an LBC venue or an alternative venue, will follow Government policies and all safety protocol, including:

  • Face masks to be worn at all times
  • Social distancing of at least 1 metre between people is recommended
  • Hand sanitiser will be available and it is recommended to use when entering/exiting the group session

Support Groups

All support groups, whether offered at an LBC venue or an alternative venue, will follow Government policies and all safety protocol.

RED

Patient and whānau interactions

  • All patient services will be offered online.
  • Some one-to-one meetings in person may be allowed and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Vouchers and financial assistance

  • Voucher support will continue.
  • Emergency financial and contactless shopping support will continue.
